Te Reo Māori

Students will study, use, and enjoy a course of Te Reo Māori. The course will cover the four strands of Kōrero Whakarongo, Pānui and Tuhituhi,  beginning with the basics in Year 9 and becoming more advanced in Year 10. There is opportunity for those new entrants more fluent in Te Reo to begin with the Year 10 advanced course or NCEA.
Kapa Haka is also a component of the  Te Reo Māori Course.

Students will follow a course of study that offers Achievement Standards in Te Reo Māori through the strands of Kōrero Whakarongo, Pānui and Tuhituhi.
They will work towards NCEA Level 1, and be assessed through a range of internal and external assessment activities. NCEA Level 2 and  Level 3 TRM  is also offered to those who have already gained Level 1 or Level 2 TRM.
Kapa Haka is timetabled into the Course

Students will follow a course of study that offers Achievement Standards in Te Reo Māori through the strands of Kōrero, Whakarongo, Pānui and Tuhituhi.
They will work towards NCEA Level 3, and be assessed through a range of internal and external assessment activities and may be selected for the Scholarship Te Reo Māori examination as well.   
A Massey University course is offered to those students who have already gained  NCEA Level 3 TRM and NCEA Level 2 Certificate. Entrance is dependent upon successful application.
