The 2025 school year has started off with a fantastic series of sporting achievements, and our girls have represented the school with pride, dedication, and skill. From swimming to athletics, volleyball, and waka ama, our students have showcased their talents and determination, setting the bar high for the rest of the year. Below are some of the fantastic results our girls have achieved so far.

Athletics

Athletics Champions for 2025 In athletics, our students continued to excel, with several girls claiming top spots in their age groups.

Tia Lloyd led the charge in the Intermediate division, securing the Athletics Championship. Sophia-Rose Sherriff claimed the Junior Athletics Championship. Ariana Grace added another title to her name, winning the Senior Athletics Championship.

East Coast North Island Athletics Competition Results A dedicated group of seven athletes travelled to the East Coast North Island Athletics Competition, where they showcased their abilities on a larger stage. Several athletes earned top-ten finishes in their respective events: Irihapeti Tuileutufuga-Nicolls placed 5th in the Senior Long Jump. Niamh Lindlay finished 9th in the Junior High Jump. Whitianga Waititi-Eynon achieved 7th place in the Intermediate Shot Put. Courtney-Lyn Carswell secured a 9th place finish in the Senior Shot Put and an 8th place finish in the Senior Discus. Te Ahimanawa Reihana placed 6th in the Intermediate Discus, rounding out the list of impressive top-ten finishes by our athletes.

Swimming Sports

Swimming Champions for 2025 The swimming season has been a triumph for our athletes, with several students securing top spots in their respective categories. Tia Lloyd claimed the Intermediate Swimming Championship. Ella Moynihan represented the school as the Junior Swimming Champion. Ariana Grace, took home the title of Senior Swimming Champion

Waka Ama

Waka Ama Nationals 2025 This year saw one of the largest groups in recent memory competing in the Waka Ama Nationals. With three junior teams and one senior team, the school’s waka ama athletes have certainly left their mark. All four teams made it to the semi-finals in their respective divisions, a huge achievement in such a competitive environment. The Senior team’s outstanding efforts saw them compete in two finals, while all three Junior teams narrowly missed out on securing a spot in the finals.
Despite this, the performance across all teams was exceptional, and the campaign is widely considered a great success.  Over 125 schools competed this year!

Volleyball

Senior Volleyball Teams Competed in the HB Secondary Volleyball Competition.  They performed with determination and skill. Both teams made semi finals in their respective divisions.

As the year progresses, it’s clear that the sporting spirit at our school is growing. This term sees our Netballers, Basketballers and Hockey athletes compete in the local HB Competitions. Our athletes have demonstrated not only their physical abilities but also their unwavering commitment to excellence. The first quarter of 2025 has been filled with remarkable achievements, and there’s no doubt that our students will continue to excel and make the school proud throughout the rest of the year.
